BLUE BUNGALOW SIZING

We stock many different brands. Sizing can differ between them.

That's why we measure garments and list their dimensions. This gives a consistent point of reference across all brands.

We also fit-test every style to recommend a corresponding 'Best Fit' to shop your usual size from.

OUR RECOMMENDATION
Best Fits Shortcut
After fit testing the garments, our product experts provide a corresponding fit recommendation for each product based off standard sizing - this is the "Best Fits" row in our Size Guide.

It is the quickest way to find your size, and is especially helpful for shopping styles that come in sizes XS - 3XL.
How does it work?
If you're usually a size 16, you would open up the Size Guide, scroll across, look out for size 16 in the Best Fits row and see the corresponding size above, for example XL - this is size that you should add to cart!
You might then look at another style and see that a size L in that dress Best Fits a size 16 - in other words, you might be a XL in one style and an L in another, always trust the Best Fits!

These variations come from differences in brands sizing, fabric type and silhouette.
If you're unsure about our 'Best Fits' recommendation or in-between sizes, keep reading. There are two other ways you can use garment measurements to confirm which size you should purchase.
Fit Advice
We will also always indicate if a garment is "true to size", fits small or large, or is designed to have an oversized look.
OUR SIZE GUIDES
Garment Measurements
Our size guides are based on garment measurements, not body measurements.

Every garment is laid flat on a table to be measured. We then double the bust, sleeve, waist, hip and hem measurements to show the full circumference.

Click through each category tab to get an idea of what points we measure from:
Bust: Across widest point of bust, from armpit to armpit. Doubled for circumference.

Sleeve Width: Across bicep - widest point upper arm. Doubled for circumference.

Waist: Directly across narrowest point of dress. Measured both relaxed and stretched when waist has elastic or shirring. Doubled for circumference.

Hip: Measured at the widest point of your hips, around your bum and where the pockets would sit. Doubled for circumference.

Length: From highest point of shoulder to hem. Front length is the highest point of shoulder to the front hem. Back length is the highest point of shoulder to the back hem.

Lining/Outer (Silk dresses): Measured at the lining and outer fabric for the bust and hem. Doubled for circumference.
Bust: Across widest point of bust, from armpit to armpit. Doubled for circumference.

Sleeve Width: Across bicep - widest point upper arm. Doubled for circumference.

Hem: Across widest point at bottom of hemline.

Length: From highest point of shoulder to hem. Front length is the highest point of shoulder to the front hem. Back length is the highest point of shoulder to the back hem.
Waist: Across waistband. Measured both relaxed and stretched for waistbands with elastic, drawstrings or shirring.

Rise (Jeans): This is front rise, measured from top of waistband to crotch seam.

Hip: Across widest point of hip, usually near pockets or bottom of zip, where your bum sits. Doubled for circumference.

MEASUREMENT COMPARISON
Similar Items in Your Wardrobe
Compare the garment measurements listed to a similar item in your wardrobe. Measure from the same points as shown above. Keep in mind any differences in intended fit and fabrication for best results.
Use Your Body Measurements
Our garment measurements can help you find your perfect size, but it's important to keep fit and stretch in mind to allow enough room for comfort!

Non stretch garments
When comparing your body measurements to the Size Guide, always add 2-5cm to allow for movement.

Stretch garments
We measure those garments both relaxed and stretched.

For example, you might see a pant with the following Waist measurements: 95/130cm.

This means that the waist is 95cm when the pant is measured laid flat but 130cm when measured stretched out - you would want your body measurements to sit in the middle (110cm) for comfort.

If your waist measurement is 130cm on the dot, we would recommend sizing up to avoid the waistband digging in (this is where "Best Fits" comes in handy)!
HOW TO
Measure Yourself
Responsive YouTube Video
Stand sideways in front of a mirror to make sure that your measuring tape is straight. When measuring, you want to hold the tape close to your body but not too tight. Measure over your undergarments.
Bust: Hold one end of the tape at the fullest part of your bust. Wrap it around (under your armpits and back to the front) to measure.

Waist: Use the tape to circle your waist (like a belt) at your natural waistline. This is above your belly button and below your rib cage.

Hips: Start at one hip and wrap the tape measure around your rear, around the other hip, and back to where you started. Make sure the tape is over the largest part of your bum.

Save your measurements in the notes app on your phone to access them each time you shop online!
